NFL POWER RANKINGS – WEEK 13

We’ve stumbled upon the last quarter of the NFL season. The bye weeks are all done, and we’ll be treated to 16 professional gridiron match ups weekly between now and the end of the calendar year.

We can see the light at the end of the tunnel as the Super Bowl is now 68 days away. For some teams that, that light is coming from a big ole train that’s about to flatten their seasons.

The time tested, accurate cliche’ that defense wins championships could very well still play out as we have two historic level defenses still holding onto the top spots atop their respective conference standings as the 49ers and Patriots plug along. But that could all be blown up as Lamar Jackson himself is seemingly a one man freight train.

To that end, make sure you’re on your couch, or in a bar when December football kicks off. 1 PM (EST) on Sunday the 49ers will head east where it’ll be a telltale sign of them having the heart to tell the Ravens nevermore if they can stop the dual threat phenom. A sort of Poe-tic justice as it was the Ravens who pulled the plug on the 49ers season when Jim Harbaugh brought his own dual threat QB into Super bowl XLVII in the form of Colin Kaepernick before the more traditional, statuesque quarterback Joe Flacco prevailed.

The flipside is that the Ravens have to be anticipating having to go through the Patriots and the 49ers if they hope to be hoisting the Lombardi in February. They’ve already got a win against the Pats on their resume. If they can mount and stuff the 49ers, they’ll be feeling pretty confident when the post season rolls around.

So lets take a look at where we stand. Who are the movers and shakers in this week’s power rankings?
